Three years after his passing, the legacy of hip-hop sensation Riky Rick continues to live on.

Following the release of his posthumous album, Boss Zonke Forever, the Riky Rick Foundation has initiated the 'Words that Heal' campaign to champion support for mental health.

It encourages South Africans to share messages of hope and healing, while encouraging conversation.

As part of the initiative, the foundation is also raising funds to provide free therapy for young people.

In collaboration with Sandton City, the foundation has released a song under the same title with messages submitted by fans.

"‘Words that Heal’ by Riky Rick, in conjunction with the beautiful voices left by our shoppers, gives hope to people. We hope everyone can find encouragement, hope, and motivation from the beautiful song," says Charmain Qofela, Campaign Manager from Sandton City.

Bianca Naidoo, wife of the late rapper and director of the Riky Rick Foundation, said it is always emotional to hear his voice, but this project felt extra special.

"I was quite emotional in the studio when I heard that for the first time. It’s just beautiful and it speaks to Riky so much."

The song is available to stream on YouTube:
