The five suspects linked to a double murder in Embo, KwaZulu-Natal, are set to appear before the Pinetown Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.
The suspects were arrested on Wednesday following Crime Intelligence Unit investigations, which led them to the group KwaNgcolosi.
Police said that the group was planning to commit yet another murder after allegedly killing two victims in 2023.
Provincial police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo said the suspects were also positively linked to several house break-in cases in the area.
"The information was relayed to the provincial task team, who proceeded to KwaNgcolosi for an operation. Upon arrival, police found five men who were inside the house. During the subsequent search, police recovered a firearm and ammunition."
