SANParks says the revenue generated by its parks will continue to support conservation efforts.
According to the parks agency, 75% of its R4 billion revenue was generated through tourism operations.
SANParks said this milestone had already been reinvested into maintaining and improving parks nationwide.
CEO Hapiloe Sello said they remain committed to conserving and managing the over 4 million hectares of land for the public.
"We have seen this business grow from strength to strength and most importantly, grow and stabilise post the pandemic. So, we are very, very proud and very happy that we find ourselves at this point."
Sello added that 28,000 hectares of land had been secured for national parks.
"We saw an 18% increase in the expenditure on infrastructure and refurbishment, and in some of our key parks, the outcomes of that expenditure are there for the eye to see."
