Cape firefighters battling raging Glencairn wildfires

Firefighters are battling extremely windy conditions along the Glencairn Expressway near Capri to prevent a wildfire from causing damage to homes in the area.
SANPark said firefighters are working along both the left and right flanks of the fire line to contain its spread.
More than 60 firefighters can be seen trying to prevent the fire from getting closer to the houses in the Capri area.

The fire looks to have started at the top of the Jonkersdam mountain and is moving down the slopes while being fanned by a strong south-easterly wind.
The blaze is moving close to the residential area in Capri, but no evacuations have been ordered, although emergency services have urged residents to remain alert.
