The Eastern Cape High Court has barred students at the University of Fort Hare from being evicted from the Alice campus following a rocky protest.
Students were initially given until 5pm on Thursday by the university management to clear out their residences.
This followed a clash between frustrated students and police over unresolved governance issues and poor living conditions.
