Members of the police's Anti-Gang Unit are making their presence felt in Delft, one of several Cape Town communities currently being plagued by deadly violence.
Officers were on Monday conducting crime prevention duties to curb gang violence and stabilise the area, when a white BMW sped past them.
A high-speed chase ensued and the vehicle was eventually brought to a standstill before the car and the driver were searched.
The police's Wesley Twigg: "The members found 924 mandrax tablets, a large amount of crystal meth and an undisclosed amount of cash in the vehicle. They arrested an adult male for dealing in drugs."
