The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) has called on government to ensure the safe return of five South African citizens, including Nelson Mandela's grandson, Mandla, who are being held in Israel.
About fifty boats on the flotilla carrying aid to Gaza were intercepted by the Israeli navy this week as they approached the port of Gaza.
Activists who were on the Global Sumud Flotilla have also called on the South African government to cease all trade with Israel immediately.
PSC organiser Professor Usuf Chikte joined pro-Palestine supporters outside parliament on Friday to urge the South African government to ensure the safe return of five SA citizens, who were captured by the Israeli navy.

"We asking the South African government to stop it, to ensure their safety, to ensure that they are provided with decent access to consular services for them to be returned to the boats."
Activists on the flotilla released a statement on Friday on behalf of the captured South Africans, calling on the government to sanction Israel and secure their release.
Israel's foreign ministry says the captured activists will be released and deported to Europe.
