An ex-police officer has been arrested during a search and seizure operation in Kraaifontein.
Earlier on Wednesday, members acted on information received about firearms being stored in the area.
Five premises were searched and at one of the addresses, an ex-police member who worked at Delft SAPS was arrested.
Police spokesperson Frederick van Wyk said the suspect will appear in the Kuilsrivier Magistrate's Court once charged.
"At the premises, several firearm magazines, an assortment of ammunition, two firearms without serial numbers, one SAPS name badge, one SAPS appointment card, and a cellular telephone were found and confiscated. The suspect an adult male was arrested and detained in Kraaifontein SAPS."
