A report by law firm Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr has found Patriotic Alliance (PA) deputy president Kenny Kunene was telling the truth about why he was found at the house of murder-accused Katiso 'KT' Molefe at the time of his arrest.
On 21 July, police raided Molefe's Sandton home and arrested him for the murders of Oupa 'DJ Sumbody' Sefoka and his two bodyguards.
At the time, Kunene said he was accompanying a young journalist when he was found at Molefe's home.
Following the incident, Kunene was suspended by his party and had to resign from his position as Johannesburg transport MMC, pending an independent investigation.
Kunene is the sole director of the online news website, Africa News Global.
The Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr report said Kunene was contacted by an acquaintance offering his news website an exclusive interview with Molefe.

Molefe wanted to share his side of the story regarding his arrest for the murder of Armand Swart, a former Transnet engineer.
The report said on 21 July, Kunene, along with a young journalist, Jabulani Binase, arrived at the Molefe's Sandton home, ready to interview him.
However, the interview never took place, as police arrived and arrested Molefe.
The report clarifies that Binase is Kunene's nephew and has neither any journalism experience nor qualification.
At the time of the incident, Binase was an intern at Kunene's news company for about two months.
