The Transport and Logistics Portfolio Committee in Gauteng has condemned the murder of the Gauteng National Taxi Alliance chairperson.
Thamsanqa Moyo was ambushed and shot multiple times while driving along the Soweto highway, South of Johannesburg, on Thursday.
Police allege it could be taxi industry-related violence after noting that nothing was stolen from his car during the incident.

The Portfolio Committee of Transport and Logistics Committee said the killing of Thamsanqa Moyo, Gauteng National Taxi Alliance chairperson, is not only a loss to the taxi industry..
But also, a setback to the collaborative efforts made in bringing stability and unity within the public transport sector.
Police are still on a manhunt for the suspects who were travelling in a minibus taxi and a Toyota Yaris.
The portfolio committee has reiterated its call for calm within the public transport sector and is urging law enforcement agencies to probe the shooting.
