JOHANNESBURG - All lanes are now open to traffic on the N1 North freeway in Midrand following a taxi crash that claimed five lives.
JMPD said the accident scene had been cleared after a taxi overturned between the Buccleuch Interchange and Allandale Road.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla urged motorists travelling on the route to practice caution.
"Following the fatal accident that happened on the N1 North between Buccleuch Interchange and Allandale Road in Midrand, where unfortunately five people lost their lives, some lanes had to be closed for the recovery process and to clear the scene, but currently all lanes on the N1 North have been opened for traffic to flow."
