JOHANNESBURG - The City of Ekurhuleni is urging pedestrians to stay off major freeways following a series of fatal incidents.
Emergency services have confirmed that two men and a woman lost their lives in separate accidents on the R21 and N17 highways.
Ekurhuleni EMS Spokesperson William Ntladi has called on residents to obey road rules to avoid further fatalities.
"Two adult pedestrians, male and female, are fatally knocked down while attempting to cross R21 freeway southbound just before Highveld Engen one stop outside Tembisa, City of Ekurhuleni.”
