JOHANNESBURG - The latest suspect arrested in the case of a R7 million stolen transformer will appear at the Atteridgeville Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The woman was arrested on Tuesday for her involvement in the case of theft that occurred last November.
The transformer was stolen from the Laudium substation in Pretoria.
The Gauteng organised crime unit has been investigating the matter since 2024.
In the last court appearance where the bail application of the last suspect was denied, details about how the transformer was stolen were revealed.
The court heard that the transformer was stolen in broad daylight by the four municipal workers, who went under the pretence of moving it.
The substation was being guarded by security, who did not stop the municipal workers from taking the transformer.
It was said the machine was then sold at an auction, which the buyer paid for into a private account.
On Wednesday morning, the court will hear how the latest suspect was involved.
