JOHANNESBURG - The Limpopo Department of Transport is urging road users to be cautious after a bus accident claimed four lives on Women’s Day.
The crash, on the R81 near Sekgopo in the Mopani district, left eight others injured.
Department spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene said that they are saddened by the incident.
“The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety is deeply saddened to confirm the tragic loss of four women in a bus accident that occurred late on the evening of Saturday, 09 August 2025, on the R81 road in Sekgopo, Mopani District. Preliminary reports indicate that the driver lost control of the bus, which subsequently overturned. Sadly, four women were declared deceased at the scene.”
