Suspect arrested in connection with Jayden-Lee Meek's murder to appear in court

JOHANNESBURG - A relative of 11-year-old Jayden-Lee Meek is expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Monday in connection with the boy’s murder.
Gauteng police made a breakthrough in the case last Friday with the arrest of the 31-year-old suspect.
Law enforcement officials said that the arrest followed extensive investigations.
It has been two months since the boy's body was discovered on the doorstep of his family home.
He was reported missing by his mother on 13 May and was found brutally beaten the next morning.
His death sparked widespread outrage in the Fleurhof community, with residents demanding justice.
Community members said that the murder had left them fearful for their children’s safety.
With a suspect in custody, some local leaders told EWN that they were hopeful that more arrests would follow as the investigation continues.
