Traffic has slowed to a crawl along the R38 highway in Barberton as hundreds converge outside Mabuza’s home to honour his legacy.

Buses transporting ANC supporters from across Mpumalanga continue to arrive, bringing people who once proudly called Mabuza their leader.

ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) member Mdu Manana said this massive show of support speaks volumes about the man Mabuza was.

“The best honour we can give comrade DD is to unite. He believed in unity. You will recall in 2017, he crisscrossed the country preaching unity.”

Mabuza is due to be laid to rest on Saturday.
