JOHANNESBURG - The man accused of murdering 14-year-old Likhona Fose will spend another week in jail following the postponement of his bail bid.
Mduduzi Mnisi made a brief appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning, where his girlfriend was expected to take the stand in his defence.
During proceedings on Tuesday, Mnisi claimed that he was at her home on the night Fose was killed.
The teen’s mutilated body was found a day after she was reported missing in Durban Deep.
However, the 39-year-old’s girlfriend, Pinky failed to arrive at the court on time.
Mnisi was reported to have been the last person seen with Fose before she was killed.
But Mnisi maintained that he was never with the girl on that day, and that he spent the night with his girlfriend.
Due to the witness’s non-appearance, the hearing was adjourned to 2 July for further bail investigation.
