Police arrest 6 people in Hout Bay for crimes related to possession of illegal guns, ammunition

CAPE TOWN - Police have arrested six people in Hout Bay for a slew of crimes related to the possession of illegal guns and ammunition.
The Anti-Gang Unit was deployed in the area on Monday.
During a search of a house on Salamander Road, officers confiscated a pistol, a revolver, and 55 rounds of ammunition.
An 18-year-old was arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
In a second bust, a 23-year-old woman was found with 63 rounds of ammunition and three magazines.
Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said the suspects would appear in the Simon’s Town Magistrates Court once charged.
"During the tracing operation by Anti-Gang Unit detectives, they arrested four adult males who were wanted in connection with charges of murder which occurred in Hout Bay recently. In addition, members searched a vehicle and confiscated a 9mm pistol with ammunition which was found inside the driver side door."
