SARS announces tax season to get underway on 7 July
SARS is urging taxpayers to prepare all their paperwork on time and avoid last-minute delays.

CAPE TOWN - The South African Revenue Service (SARS) announced that the tax season for 2025 will kick off on 7 July with auto-assessments.
These are done using third-party data from employers and bank accounts, among other things.
SARS is also encouraging taxpayers who do not receive notifications that they are automatically assessed to submit their tax returns from 21 July.

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has set 20 October as the last day for non-provisional individuals to file their taxes.
Meanwhile, provisional taxpayers, as well as trust submissions, can do so from 21 July until 19 January next year.
SARS is urging taxpayers to prepare all their paperwork on time and avoid last-minute delays.
Taxpayers are also required to ensure that all their details are accurate and updated to ensure the processing of any refund that may be due.
