Before starting his presentation, Mchunu addressed the recent claims made by US President Donald Trump that there was a white genocide in the country and white people were being persecuted by government.

The police minister said Trump's claims are not supported by any evidence.

"We have respect for the USA as a country, the people of the USA, and we have respect for President Donald Trump, but we have no respect for his (white) genocide story. It is totally unfounded and unsubstantiated."
