JOHANNESBURG - The South African Jewish Board of Deputies (SAJBD) claims that the recent shooting of two Israeli embassy staff members was an anti-Semitic murder.
The couple was shot and killed on Wednesday night outside of a Jewish museum in Washington, D.C., in the United States.
It's understood that the assailant shouted Free Palestine as he was being arrested by law enforcement.
SAJBD deputy director, Charisse Zeifert, said there was an increase in attacks on the Jewish community globally.
“The tragic and heinous murder of two young Israeli embassy staff members outside the Jewish museum in Washington D.C. last night serves as a shocking reminder of the rising tide of anti-semitism that we are witnessing all over the world.”
