JOHANNESBURG - Extremely cold weather is expected to make landfall across parts of the country following alerts issued by the South African Weather Service.
Forecaster Telokelo Chiloane says the cold front anticipated in areas including the Western Cape is likely to be accompanied by strong winds.
She said, however, rainfall is expected over other parts of the country.
"The southern parts of the country will be dominated by isolated to scattered showers and thunder showers both on Tuesday and Wednesday," said Chiloane.
She added that residents can expect temperatures to drop significantly for the week.

"It's going to be very cold in the Western Cape province. As well as the southern parts of the Northern Cape. This cold will spread to the northern parts of the country, reaching Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo on Wednesday."
