CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police have confirmed the arrest of a second suspect in connection with the discovery of foreign and South African currency worth more than R1 million in Parklands.

The 26-year-old woman will appear at the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Thursday alongside a 38-year-old man who is her co-accused in the matter.

The man was arrested on Tuesday by police acting on a tip-off about drugs being sold at a house in Parklands.

Cape Town police said that in the early hours of Tuesday morning, they were alerted to possible drug dealing at a house in Hill Crescent in Table View.

Upon arrival, they searched the premises and discovered more than R1 million worth of foreign and South African currency, as well as a bag full of bank cards belonging to various people.

According to police, the 38-year-old man they found at the house could not provide a valid reason for possessing the items and was arrested.

Further investigations led to the arrest of a 26-year-old woman on Wednesday.

Both suspects face charges of possession of presumed stolen property and conspiracy to commit cybercrimes.
