CAPE TOWN - The prosecution in the Mark Lifman murder case said it's confident that the George Magistrates Court made the right decision to deny his alleged killer’s bail.
Lifman, who was out on bail for the 2017 murder of Brian "Steroid King" Wainstein, was shot and killed in George in November last year.

They've now approached the Western Cape High Court to try and overturn that ruling.
Lawyer for Johannes Jacobs and Gert Bezuidenhout, Advocate Mike Hellens, said that the George Magistrates Court made a mistake when it ruled against granting his clients bail.
The George court ruled that it was in the best interest of justice not to release the pair on bail.
State prosecutor Advocate Evadne Kortje agreed and asked the Western Cape High Court to reject the bail appeal.
"It is the respondents’ respectful submission before this honourable court that in this honourable court for making that finding that the discretion was not wrong in refusing of bail that does not necessitate this honourable court's interference."
Judgment in the bail appeal application was reserved.
