CAPE TOWN - Capetonians are urged to steer clear of the parts of the South Peninsula that have been affected by the recent fire.
The blaze, which broke out in the Silvermine area on Friday evening, has destroyed at least 3,000 hectares of vegetation in the Table Mountain National Park.
It's still unclear what caused the fire, but arson has not been ruled out.
A 37-year-old man is expected to appear in court on Wednesday for starting a fire in a conservation area.
However, the police said at this stage, there's no indication that he can be linked to the Table Mountain National Park fires.
Meanwhile, the City's fire department said the female firefighter who was injured in the line of duty on Sunday is recovering at home.
Further, the community members who were evacuated over the weekend as a precaution have since returned to their homes.
