JOHANNESBURG – South Africa's cricket Emerging Women's and Men’s squads for the tour in Bangladesh have been announced.

The women’s squad will depart for Bangladesh on Friday, 2 May, and the men’s squad on Wednesday, 7 May.

The SA Emerging Women’s white-ball tour will comprise of three one-day matches in Chattogram from 06 – 11 May, followed by three T20 matches in Cox’s Bazar from 14 – 18 May.

“The women’s squad comprises of a mix of players who have represented the junior and senior national teams as well as those on the fringe, making this a tour to build on that experience and challenge for higher honours” said Head of High Performance Grant van Velden.

The men will play three 50-over matches in Rajshahi from 12 – 16 May, before heading to Chattogram for the first four-day match, which gets underway on 20 May. The tour will conclude with the second four-day match in the capital city, Dhaka, starting on 27 May.

“A couple of the men’s players were part of a previous U19 tour to Bangladesh a few years ago, so I’m excited to see how they adapt to this level.

“The tour also leads into the start of this year’s Emerging Academy programme, which runs from June to July, with that intake set to be announced later this week” said van Velde.
