CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town's fire department says four choppers are now water bombing the area between Tokai and Clovelly.
It said at the moment, the Tokai area is of concern as thick and dry vegetation is aiding the spread of the fire.
Ward councillor, Carolynne Franklin, said the situation is fluid and things could change without warning.
"Evacuations did take place on Sunday; the fire is not yet contained. We have all the resources that we possibly can get up into the air and up to the fire lines."
She added that donations for firefighters are still welcome and can be dropped off at the Lakeside Fire Station.
"At this stage, it's all hands on deck. We have the most incredible community rallying around us, everybody's providing snacks and water and food and Energade and ice and everything else that we can do to keep the firefighter as sustained as possible."
