Last year, over 1.2 million travellers were processed, with hundreds of attempts to enter South Africa illegally stopped.

This year's Easter operations were conducted under the 'Hi Tivise' campaign aimed at boosting border security and encouraging the public to report suspicious activities.

The authority said strengthening border control is crucial to curb cross-border crime, human trafficking, and the flow of illicit goods.
