SANParks Spokesperson JP Louw says helicopters were launched at first light on Saturday to assist ground crews.
"Fires one and two were successfully contained overnight, but the third fire remains active. It is currently burning toward Elephants Eye and the Gym Thickets. Fire crews are working to prevent the blaze from spreading into the trees in that area."
Louw says preliminary investigations suggest the fires were started deliberately.
"Please note that all trails in Tokai, including the Elephants Eye footpath, are closed. Hikers are specifically advised to avoid access from Silvermine above the fire zone for their safety."
