DURBAN - Emergency service teams are on high alert in KwaZulu-Natal following another weather warning.

Durban residents have been warned to brace for heavy rains as heavy rain hits the coastal city.

The city is facing a level 4 warning of widespread showers and storms.

Parts of the city are already flooded, especially roads.

Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedics’ Garrith Jamieson said: "ALS paramedics would like to warn all motorists and homeowners to please be cautious with the wet weather we are currently experiencing as well as predicted for the remainder of the day."

He also warned of large water forming in parts of the city.

"We’ve received multiple reports of localised flooding, and this would include large water patterns that are formed all over Durban."
