CAPE TOWN - The prosecution in the fatal Wynberg Magistrates Court shooting case has added more charges against a man and a woman linked to the crime.

Shireen Matthews and Abubakar Adams appeared in the same court on Wednesday.

Matthews is accused of orchestrating the alleged revenge hit on taxi operator Dingalomoya Chintso earlier this month.

Chintso was suspected of being involved in the murder of a Junky Funky (JFK) gang member earlier this year.

Earlier in April, two gunmen entered the Wynberg Magistrates Court, walked up to Dingalomoya Chintso, and shot and killed him.

The prosecution argues that Matthews, who's rumoured to be a girlfriend of a senior member of the JFK gang, hired two hitmen to kill Chintso.

Adams is accused of being one of the people who pulled the trigger.

State advocate Christiaan de Jongh said the pair faces gang-related charges, murder and premeditated murder, among other charges.

"There are now eight charges preferred against the accused. I also want to hand in written confirmation from the Director of Public Prosecutions indicating that she intends to charge both the accused with an offence referred to in Schedule 6 of the Criminal Procedure Act."

The matter will sit again on 9 May for one of the accused to get a lawyer.
