JOHANNESBURG - The murder trial of Sandton teacher, Kirsten Kluyts, has been postponed to May.

Bafana Mahungela briefly appeared in the Johannesburg High Court on Wednesday, where an issue of outstanding video footage was raised.

The court heard that the State is yet to provide Mahungela's legal team with CCTV footage of him on the day of Kluyts' murder.

The teacher, who was pregnant at the time, was murdered and robbed of her valuables while on a Park Run in George Lea Park in Parkmore in 2023.

Mahungela, a Varsity College student, was arrested at his student residence a month later after police linked him to the crime using cellphone evidence and CCTV footage.

The trial is set to commence on 14 May.
