JOHANNESBURG - The murder trial of Sandton teacher, Kirsten Kluyts, will get underway in the Johannesburg High Court on Wednesday.
Bafana Mahungela stands accused of murdering Kluyts and robbing her of her valuables during a Park Run in George Lea Park in October 2023.
The Delta Park High teacher was pregnant at the time.
Mahungela was arrested at his student residence a month later, after police linked him to the crime using CCTV footage and cellphone evidence.
The trial was meant to begin last week but was delayed after Mahungela changed his legal team.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane: "The case against Bafana Mahungela was postponed by the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng division in Johannesburg, to April 23 for the State to disclose further contents of the docket to the accused person."
