The 24-year-old man was arrested over the weekend in connection with the murder of a taxi operator from Vrygrond two weeks ago.
Police said that more arrests were imminent.
Security was beefed up at the Wynberg Magistrates Court after two gunmen entered the court premises and fired a semi-automatic weapon outside Court D earlier in April.
A 50-year-old murder accused was shot and killed.
One of the men linked to the shooting is expected to make his first court appearance on Tuesday.
The alleged mastermind, 35-year-old Shireen Mathews, returns to court for a second appearance on Wednesday.
Mathews was arrested shortly after the fatal shooting.
