JOHANNESBURG - Bus company Putco is gearing up for the second phase of transporting congregants of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) during their Easter pilgrimage to Moria, Limpopo.

According to the company, approximately 30,000 pilgrims were safely transported to the church grounds without any incidents.

This marks the return of the annual gathering after a five-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Putco credited the smooth operation to its fleet of roadworthy vehicles and the recent road safety refresher course completed by its drivers.

Spokesperson Lindokuhle Xulu said preparations were now underway for the return leg of the journey, which is set to begin on Sunday.

"We are proud as Putco to have completed the first phase of our operation of the 2025 Easter pilgrimage to Morio with nearly 500 buses operated. This was achieved together with our business ventures partners, including Ipelegeng Transport, Gauteng Women in Transport, Zembelani and SS Africa."
