JOHANNESBURG - The Limpopo Department of Transport is warning motorists of heavy traffic on roads leading into the province and around places of worship.

This, as the Easter long weekend kicks off on Friday. 

Travellers are urged to prepare for delays on routes heading to Polokwane and roads going to Boyne. 

Law enforcement officials have been deployed and will remain on the roads to manage traffic flow and stop violation of any laws. 

Transport Department spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene cautions people that any law-breaking will have consequences. 

“Yesterday, a 25-year-old reckless driver of a white Volkswagen hatchback was arrested for speeding at 214 km/h in a 120 km/h zone on the N1 near Mokopane. He is scheduled to appear at the Mokopane Magistrate's Court soon.”

She added that there have been no fatalities reported from on Thursday.
