CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town has assured residents that refuse collection services will continue as normal over the next few public holidays.

Today marks Good Friday, which will be followed by Easter Monday and then Freedom Day, which will be observed on the 28th of April and Workers’ Day on the 1st of May.

Residents are, however, cautioned of the possibility of collection delays due to factors like holiday traffic or unplanned absenteeism.

If delays do occur, residents are urged to take their bins out each day until it has been emptied.

The city says any backlog that may develop should be cleared by the following week’s scheduled collection day at the latest.
