JOHANNESBURG - A matriculant from Thetha Secondary School in Orange Farm is worried about gangsterism that, he says, has infiltrated the school.

A Grade 11 learner was stabbed on the school premises and rushed to a local clinic earlier this week, in what’s been described as a gang-related incident.

In a separate altercation on Wednesday, another learner at the neighbouring Vulanindlela Secondary School was also stabbed.

A learner, who spoke to Eyewitness News anonymously, said after the incident on Monday, the school had to close for the week, negatively impacting his all-important matric year.

"It’s difficult because now we’re about to go into the Easter holidays and we haven’t covered the content yet, we had to cover it this week at least, end of this week, we had to know something."
