The business rescue practitioners, Anoosh Rooplal and Juanito Damons, have been in place since 2023 at a cost of over R176 million.
The Post Office’s business rescue team and its performance have been a bone of contention for both the National Assembly and National Council of Provinces (NCOP) committees in recent months.
On Tuesday, the NCOP’s select committee chairperson, Hildegard Boshoff, slammed the business rescue practitioners for asking for another deferment after failing to appear since 2024.
"They should have been ready by now and I am personally completely dissatisfied with their approach to our request for this meeting today. They’ve had four months to present us with their report."
While the National Assembly communications committee has called for the business rescue team to wrap up, the NCOP select committee will issue a subpoena to force them to appear.
