JOHANNESBURG - Police have launched an investigation after two private buses went up in flames in Pretoria West.
Firefighters from the City of Tshwane Emergency Services were dispatched just after 5am on Tuesday to WF Nkomo Street, where both vehicles were found burning.
One bus was completely engulfed, while intense radiant heat damaged the second, shattering its windscreen and melting its side mirrors.
Crews from Central and Philip Nel Park fire stations acted swiftly to contain the flames, preventing further damage or spread to nearby structures.
"The South African Police Service were on the scene and assisted with incident management. There were no injuries that were reported on this incident and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined," said Tshwane EMS spokesperson Lindsay Mnguni.
