CAPE TOWN - The case against two alleged gunmen charged with the murder of controversial Cape Town businessman, Mark Lifman, has been postponed for a regional court date.

Johan Hendrik Jacobs and Gert Bezuidenhout appeared in the George Magistrates Court on Tuesday for the murder of the alleged underworld figure.

Lifman was shot and killed in George in November last year.

At the time, Lifman was on trial, along with alleged underworld figures Jerome "Donkie" Booysen and Andre Naude, for the murder of "steroid king" Brian Wainstein.

Jacobs and Bezuidenhout remain behind bars after they were denied bail by the George Magistrates Court earlier this year.

The court ruled that it would not be in the interest of justice to release the pair on bail.

It is the State's case that the duo shot and killed Lifman while he was walking to his in the parking lot of the Garden Route Mall in George in November last year.

The alleged gunmen are expected back in court again on 6 May.
