KZN COGTA Dept urges residents to heed level 4 alert for inclement weather

JOHANNESBURG - KwaZulu-Natal residents have been advised to take precautionary measures following a level four alert for inclement weather conditions.
The warning issued by the South African Weather Service said that the heavy rainfall expected over most parts of the province could lead to flooding.
The provincial co-operative governance department said that while disaster management teams were on standby to respond to any emergencies, residents were advised to heed the warning.
Spokesperson Senzelwa Mzila: "Areas that are expected to be affected include the districts of uMzinyathi, Amajuba, uMgungundlovu, iLembe, eThekwini metro, Ugu district and King Cetshwayo. The weather conditions could lead to difficult road driving conditions, flooding of roads and settlements, damage to property to infrastructure and damage to mud-based houses.
