JOHANNESBURG - Former Sizok’thola presenter on Moja Love, Xolani Khumalo, says he’s rebuilding his life after a slew of charges against him have been provisionally withdrawn, including murder.

Before his arrest in 2023, Khumalo made headlines for taking on drug dealers on national TV, often gaining applause for swift action by fans on social media.

He made a brief appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court on Monday, expecting his trial to begin, but instead, he walked out a free man.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says further investigations are still underway, prompting the State to pause the case.

Khumalo faced charges relating to the 2023 death of suspected drug dealer Robert Varrie, who was allegedly tortured in his Katlehong home and later died in hospital.

The incident happened during the filming of his controversial drug-busting show Sizok'thola, where Khumalo positioned himself as a crime-fighting hero.

Now he says he’s starting over.

“I can be able to pick up the pieces of my life. A lot has happened, and I have lost a lot of things. I’m hoping this will open more opportunities to work.”

He’s also vowed to continue taking on the drug trade, despite the controversy that’s followed him in the past year.
