Brakfontein substation restoration almost complete after explosion leaves Centurion suburbs in the dark
Parts of Centurion have been without electricity for nearly two weeks following an explosion that caused significant damage to the substation.

JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane has confirmed it's in the final stages of restoring the Brakfontein substation in Centurion.
Parts of Centurion have been without electricity for nearly two weeks following an explosion that caused significant damage to the substation.

The affected areas included Rooihuiskraal, Heuweloord, Monavoni, Amberfield, Eldoraigne, Celtisdal and Wierdapark.
Tshwane Utilities MMC Frans Boshielo said that his teams were hard at work to restore power to all the affeced communities.
"Thanks to the dedication and hard work of the technicians. Once more, I would like to thank you for your patience during this challenging time. The other areas that are still outstanding will have their electricity restored very soon."
