Presidency confirms 24 April for Zelensky's working visit to SA

JOHANNESBURG - The office of the presidency has confirmed that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr
Zelensky will be in South Africa on a working visit on 24 April.
The agenda for Zelensky’s visit to Pretoria is yet to be publicised.
However, he is expected to engage President Cyril Ramaphosa on Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Ramaphosa has been leading the African Peace Initiative, a mission by several African heads of states to bring a peaceful resolution between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party and the South African Communist Party have criticised government for inviting Zelensky, saying it goes against the country’s non-aligned posture with the conflict.
