One person has won a staggering R110 million in this week’s Powerball jackpot.
The person, who has yet to come forward, will walk away with R110,904,086.10 from Tuesday’s draw (8 April).
The now-multimillionaire reportedly purchased the ticket via the FNB mobile banking app and the lucky number was from a quick pick.
So, you have the winning ticket, what is next?
Answer your phone! Your bank will contact you.
“We have a lot of people who think they are getting scammed, so they don’t answer their phones. So, if you have bought a ticket on the FNB app, and you haven’t taken a call from FNB, you could be missing out.”

Once notified, the winner must make their way to their nearest Ithuba offices to validate their ticket.
The winner will have 365 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize before the ticket expires.
All the winnings are paid fully and tax-free within 72 hours of claiming.
“We also offer all of our winners financial as well as trauma counselling because they are not trauma scary, but trauma exciting. We have to make sure that they’ve got all of the support to be able to navigate this win.”
