Motsoaledi announces creation of 1,650 jobs in public health sector
The news comes after numerous demonstrations were held countrywide in 2024, calling for a greater focus on job creation in the industry.

JOHANNESBURG - In a major boost for public health, 1,650 jobs will be created to meet the growing demand within the sector.
Minister of Health Aaron Motsoaledi made the announcement during a media briefing in Centurion on Thursday.
The news comes after numerous demonstrations were held countrywide in 2024, calling for a greater focus on job creation in the industry.
Motsoaledi said that the decision is in line the new budget presentation by the finance minister in March.
“The council has approved advertisements of 1,200 jobs for doctors, 200 [jobs for] nurses, and 250 [jobs for] other healthcare professionals. The human resources unit will soon commence with recruitment processes.”
