KZN police investigate murder case linked to killing of presidential bodyguard

DURBAN - Police in KwaZulu-Natal are investigating a case of murder linked to the killing of a presidential bodyguard.
The sergeant who served in VIP Security Unit was shot at while leaving a store in Inanda, north of Durban, on Tuesday night.
Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says the sergeant’s firearm was also taken.
"Police in Inanda are investigating a case of murder following an incident in which an off-duty police officer was shot and killed by unknown suspects on Mafukuzela Drive, in Newtown C on Tuesday evening.”
Netshiunda says the officer was still in uniform when he was killed.
“The officer who was attached to the presidential protection services had just reported of duty when he passed by a tuck shop, reports indicate that he was accosted by five unknown men who opened fire on him.”
