During the recent school holidays, Philisa Abafazi Bethu hosted an anti-bullying programme to help children and their parents find ways to deal with bullying and bullies.

Lucinda Evans, co-founder of Philisa Abafazi Bethu, said that parents needed to help address bullying, especially when their child was the perpetrator.

"But the family protects the violent child, the gangster child, also the bully child, and what we’re saying is that if we’re going to address the scourge of bullying, we need to look at what is going on inside the family because it is a family thing - the answer also lies within the family."
