Late goals lift Banyana Banyana over Malawi in emotional farewell for Nyandeni

JOHANNESBURG – Banyana Banyana came from behind to defeat Malawi 2-1 in their second international friendly at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Tuesday.
Malawi’s Vanessa Chikupira scored in the 59th minute, but goals from set pieces by Hildah Magaia in the 75th and Amogelang Motau in the 87th earned victory for Banyana Banyana.
Today’s win follows the national team's 3-0 victory at UJ Soweto Campus on Saturday.
Desiree Ellis’s team also bid farewell to Mpumi ‘The Goat’ Nyandeni, who played her 150th and final match for the national team.

The midfielder made her senior debut at the age of 15 and has been a vital part of Banyana Banyana’s journey for nearly two decades.
